Catastrophic rain occurred in the Carolinas the past few days as Hurricane Florence moved through. The storm will now turn northward and will cross New England on Tuesday with periods of rain. A few inches are possible. Of course, it won’t compare to the mid-Atlantic, where Meteorologist Ryan Maue estimates that Florence, when done, will have dropped close to 18 trillion gallons of water on the Carolinas, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Tennessee and Virginia. That falls short of Hurricane Harvey which dumped 25 trillion gallons on Texas and Louisiana.
