It’s no surprise that rainfall totals this month are running over 4.5 inches above normal, with rain falling on 12 of the first 15 days of the month, but what seems unusual, despite all the precipitation, is that temperatures are approaching 4.5 degrees above normal. Being that precipitation typically cools the air during the summer season, such an extreme deviation goes against expectations. High pressure will bring sunshine and hot temperatures across Connecticut on Thursday with highs around 90. More rain is in the forecast by late Friday.
