12. Personnal foul on Tim Donaghy

In one way, you could say this should be a bigger scandal than what Pete Rose did. 

Rose always maintained that he never bet against his own team, and there is indeed no evidence that he did. 

No matter what Rose did, or did not do, as an NBA ref, Donaghy was in an even stronger position to affect that outcome of games.  

After falling in with a bit of a bad crowd, (The mob). and with a major gambling addiction to begin with that lead him into debt, it was revealed that Donaghy had placed thousands of dollars in bets on games in which he was referee and could therefore affect the outcome. 

This would land Donaghy in federal prison. While no other referee has been found guilty in this scheme, the now disgraced, and released referee has said that the NBA machine indirectly shows favoritism to certain players in situations where a foul should, or should not be called.
