San Juan, Puerto Rico, was called La Ciudad Amurallada, the walled city. It had the most formidable walls, along with Havana, Cuba, and Cartagenea, Columbia. The muralla or city walls are as tall as 42 feet and as thick as 45 feet at the base and two feet thick at the top.
