Big Time Rush is returning to Universal Studios, taking to the Music Plaza stage on June 8, Universal Orlando has announced. The four-man band will be included in the 2013 edition of the theme park's Summer Concert Series.
The group, featured on the Nickelodeon TV series "Big Time Rush," is the first act revealed for the six-night event. Big Time Rush members --Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan Anderson -- are wrapping up their third album, set for release this summer. It will include music that also will be heard during the upcoming season of the "Big Time Rush" show.
Universal and Nickelodeon are sponsored a contest that allows a fan to win a trip to meet BTR at visit Universal Studios and its sister park, Islands of Adventure. Big Time Rush sang at Universal Studios during the 2012 Marid Gras celebration and also at a stand-alone concert there in 2011.
Other acts will be announced later, Universal said. The Summer Concert Series runs on Saturday nights from June 1 to July 6. The performances are included in regular park admission.
