The 2014 race sold out in just four months, one month faster than the 2013 race. Almost 13,500 runners will tackle the course on Jan. 12. Three two shorter races being run that weekend had previously sold out, a 5k family run on Thursday, Jan. 9, a 10K on Friday, Jan. 10 and half marathon on Saturday, Jan. 10.

The only option left to those wishing to partake of running events are the Goofy's Race and Half Challenge -- that's running 39.3 miles in two days. Also individual registrations can be made for both the marathon and half marathon though charity and tour groups, a list of which can be found on www.runDisney.com.

The marathon weekend is the first of five runDisney events at Walt Disney World for 2014. The Princess Half Marathon takes place in February, The Expedition Everest Challenge in May, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Mile Weekend in October and the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend in November. There are two events at Disneyland as well.
