Name: Eagle Creek Pack-It Folder 18

What it is: A packing folder that helps travelers organize and pack clothes in a wrinkle-resistant package. The 18-inch folder is designed to fit in most carry-on suitcases while holding and compressing eight to 12 shirts or pants. It comes with a flat insert with illustrations designed to help people fold clothes neatly around it. When closing the Pack-It Folder, it’s easy to compress clothing without creating wrinkles. Eagle Creek’s YouTube channel includes a video demonstration: tinyurl.com/6sw4l8u. It’s available in a few sizes and comes in several colors including black, blue and red.

The good: I am packing-challenged, so the folder has made a huge difference in how my clothing looks after I arrive. Now instead of ironing after landing, my shirts and pants arrive with few, if any, wrinkles. The illustrated insert has become my best friend because it helps me fold shirts, which often are a struggle. When I’ve used the compression bags, the “rolling to squeeze the air out” process has always left me with wrinkled clothes.

The bad: The folder takes up a lot of room in my carry-on, but I could try the 15-inch size.

Cost: $27.50
