Name: Delsey Solution 18-inch International Carry-on Spinner Trolley
What it is: A suitcase that meets international carry-on standards and should fit in most airlines’ overhead bins. The bag has a zippered compartment in the top interior, two compression straps in its main compartment and one easy access exterior zippered pocket. To fold the bag, you pull down its bottom and side flaps. When I measured Solution’s assembled exterior down to its wheelbase, it was approximately 18.5 x 15.2 x 9.5 inches. Collapsed, its 9.5-inch height shrank to about 5 inches. It weighs 6.6 pounds. According to Delsey’s website, there’s room in the bag for three pairs of slacks, four shirts, a coat, two pairs of shoes and a toiletry bag. It ships with a TSA combination lock and a zippered PVC protective cover for storage.
The good: Solution is perfect for a long weekend or short business trip. The suitcase goes from collapsed to ready for packing in seconds, and I’ve been able to cram a lot of clothes into it. When folded, Solution slides neatly under my bed.
The bad: I wish the empty bag weighed 5 pounds or less, since I overpack.
