Universal Studios: Miranda Cosgrove added to Summer Concert Series

<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-6418" title="Miranda Cosgrove 200" src="http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/features_orlando/files/2012/06/Miranda-Cosgrove-200.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="266" />Universal Studios has filled the final slot of its Summer Concert Series with Miranda Cosgrove, star of Nickelodeon television series "iCarly." She will perform live at the theme park's Music Plaza on July 14, the last night of the summer series, Universal Orlando announced Tuesday.

Cosgrove has released a solo album called "Sparks Fly." She also recorded the theme song to "iCarly" called “Leave It All to Me” and other tunes for the show.

Feel the synergy moment: Cosgrove was the voice of Margo in the animated movie, “Despicable Me,” which will soon have a Universal Studios attraction based on its characters. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, a motion simulator, entered "technical rehearsal" recently, although an official opening date has not been released.

Other upcoming Summer Concert Series performers include ZZ Top and 3 Doors Down (June 16), Josh Turner (June 23), Al Green (June 30) and Lupe Fiasco (July 7). The shows, which begin at 8 p.m., are included in regular theme-park admission.
