The guys who tackle tough aquarium conundrums on Animal Planet’s “Tanked” are taking their talents to Panama City Beach.

Wayde King & Brett Raymer’s efforts for the city’s largest resort Laketown Wharf will air on the network on June 9 at 10 p.m.

For the episode, the duo look to work with the resort’s new nautical-themed seafood restaurant.

Animal Planet offers a clip of a “Tanked” episode that works on an aquarium at Laketown Wharf Resort in Panama City Beach.

“We just opened a restaurant, and we want to bring the Gulf — what people come here for — into the restaurant while they’re eating,” said Pat Holcombe, marketing director for Emerald Resorts during the episode.

He said the restaurant’s decor includes trappings from real ships including lighting fixtures and nautical rope on columns about the dining area.

“We want to make sure we bring the authenticity to the tank that we have in here along with all the decor we brought in,” Holcombe said.

The end result was a huge cylindrical saltwater tank with not only species you can find diving in the Gulf of Mexico waters like queen angel and blue regal tang, but also a nod to the resort and community’s ties to sea turtles.

“Panama City Beach and the community has always been about the conservation of those creatures, and outside on the boarwalk we have themed sea turtles,” Holcombe said.

Those giant painted statues with themes such as the military, peace and more do make their way into the restaurant tank, but in miniature form.

Laketown Wharf rises huge on the Panama City Beach skyline with 765 condo units, five pools, and it sits on a lake that’s just across the street from the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. For more on the resort, visit laketownwharf.com.
