Patrick Kahn describes his art gallery Snap! Space as an “oasis.”
The 5,000-square-foot, indoor-outdoor gallery and events venue can be found inside the Cameo Theater in the Mills 50 neighborhood.
And it is not your typical gallery.
“It’s spectacular,” said Kahn, director of the gallery, which opened in 2014. “It’s an old theater, but we kept the raw elements of the theater — a historic feel but futuristic.”
Throughout Snap! Space, art enthusiasts can enjoy photos, digital media and large-scale drawings.
For aspiring photographers, there are workshops, contests and portfolio reviews. Artists, authors and photographers from around the world stop in to speak. The gallery’s website and social-media pages are constantly updated with information on new exhibits and special events.
Kahn says the venue is a “very alive place focused around the art.”
What makes Snap! Space unique is the diversity.
“With the programming we offer, the guest speakers, the special events,” Kahn says, “it’s an all-around educational and entertainment venue.”
The gallery is at 1013 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando; hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.
