"This photo was taken on the top of a towering cliff at the tip of the westernmost peninsula in <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO00000023" title="Iceland" href="/topic/international/iceland-PLGEO00000023.topic">Iceland</a>, which makes it the westernmost point in all of Europe (Iceland is part of Europe). This cliff area is called Latrabjarg and is renowned for its cliff-nesting birds. The image was taken about 10:45 p.m., within a day or two of the longest day of the year. It was the best puffin spot on the island we found in late June 2011."<br>
