Lifetime licenses: Gov. Rick Scott signed an executive order Thursday to offer Lifetime Sportsman's Licenses for Florida residents 21 and younger for $500 — half the current cost of $1,000 — from Nov. 24-Dec. 31. The license covers saltwater and freshwater recreational fishing, hunting and permits for turkey, waterfowl, lobster and snook, among other species. The license allows fishing and hunting in Florida for the rest of the license holder's life, even if that person is no longer a resident of the state.

Demo days: Hell's Bay Boatworks has three demo days where anglers can test ride the company's flats skiffs from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The Marquesa and Professional models are at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne on Nov. 14. NASCAR tournament: The Darrell Gwynn Foundation has the annual Hot Rods & Reels Charity Fishing Tournament at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The event pairs NASCAR drivers with anglers to fish for largemouth and peacock bass in the speedway's infield lake. Participants have included Tony Stewart, Jamie McMurray, Carl Edwards, Darrell Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman and Martin Truex. Proceeds benefit the foundation's mission to raise spinal cord injury awareness and purchase custom power wheelchairs for children and young adults.
