Electronics expo: West Marine has its inaugural Marine Electronics Expo from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at its Fort Lauderdale store at 2401 S. The event features the newest products from a variety of manufacturers, including Garmin, Raymarine, Lowrance, Simrad, Shakespeare, ICOM, Fusion and Uniden, and representatives will have seminars on their companies' latest marine electronics technology. Yard sale: The West Palm Beach Fishing Club's annual Marine Yard Sale is 7 a.m. to noon April 16 at the club's headquarters at 201 Fifth Street, West Palm Beach. The event typically features everything from rods, reels, lures, gaffs and landing nets to anchors, dock lines, coolers and dive gear, all of it donated to the club over the past year. There are no commercial vendors. Proceeds benefit the youth education and conservation efforts of the Palm Beach County Fishing Foundation, which is the club's charitable affiliate. Fishing Derby: Early registration is open for the Greater Lantana Chamber of Commerce's 22nd annual Lantana Fishing Derby, a family oriented tournament for kingfish, dolphin and wahoo on May 14 with the weigh-in at the Old Key Lime House restaurant on East Ocean Avenue. First prize is $2,500 for the heaviest overall fish. The heaviest of each species wins $1,250, and there are cash prizes for second and third in each category.
