Nov. 22-30: First phase of the regular duck season.

Dec. 6: A guided moonlight canoe trip is 7-9 p.m. at Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. Meet at the Lee Road boat ramp, west of U.S. Highway 441 in Boynton Beach, for a tour through a portion of the refuge interior. Rental canoes are available for $32 from Loxahatchee Canoeing. You may not bring your own. Reservations are required by calling 561-733-0192.

Dec. 6-Jan. 25: Second phase of the regular duck season.

Dec. 12-Jan. 15: The third phase of the season for mourning and white-winged doves. Hunting is allowed from 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. Visit myfwc.com.

Nov. 14-15: The Bimini Wahoo Smackdown V out of the Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marina in the Bahamas. New rules for the two-day tournament have increased the fishing limits from 60 to 75 miles on the first day and unlimited on the second day. Teams can weigh up to five fish per boat. The team catching the heaviest wahoo wins a Carey Chen original painting. Prizes will also be awarded for the five heaviest fish over two days and the three heaviest fish each day.

Nov. 14-16: Hell's Bay Boatworks has three demo days where anglers can test ride the company's flats skiffs from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The Marquesa and Professional models are at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne on Nov. 14. The Marquesa, Professional and Waterman are at Bayfront Park in Homestead on Nov. 15. On Nov. 16 the Marquesa, Professional and Biscayne (in the afternoon) are at La Siesta Marina in Islamorada. Nov. 15: The Darrell Gwynn Foundation has the annual Hot Rods & Reels Charity Fishing Tournament at 8:30 a.m. at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The event pairs NASCAR drivers with anglers to fish for largemouth and peacock bass in the speedway's infield lake. Participants have included Tony Stewart, Jamie McMurray, Carl Edwards, Darrell Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman and Martin Truex. Proceeds benefit the foundation's mission to raise spinal cord injury awareness and purchase custom power wheelchairs for children and young adults. Nov. 20: Capt. Bouncer Smith has a seminar from 6:30-8 p.m. entitled "Kite Fishing and Other Live Bait Methods" at Dusky Sports Center, 110 N. Bryan Rd., Dania Beach. Cost is $15 and redeemable for merchandise in the store. Call 954-922-8890.
