Old New-Gate Prison is closed for renovation and restoration in 2010.
In the early 18th century, New-Gate was a copper-mine before it was used to house criminals in 1773.
The first State Prison in America, New-Gate was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
Today, New-Gate is one of the top tourist attractions in Connecticut.

Admission: Adults $5; Seniors (60+) & College students with ID $4; Children (6-17) $3; Children under 6 are free.
