The popular seasonal New York City food fair known as Smorgasburg is expanding from Brooklyn to Los Angeles.

Smorgasburg LA will open June 19 in downtown Los Angeles on the 5-acre site of the century-old Alameda Produce Market at Central Avenue and East Seventh Street, near the Arts District. It will be open Sundays when the Alameda market is closed. Smorgasburg LA will be a showcase for dozens of food vendors, including Rucker’s Pies, offering sweet and savory pies created by National Pie Contest winner Nicole Rucker; Guerrilla Tacos by chef Wes Avila; and Ugly Drum’s pastrami stand. Also onsite, a shopping market at 746 Market Court, offering antiques, crafts, pop-ups and events.

Back home in Brooklyn, Smorgasburg kicked off its sixth season the first weekend of April. It takes place Saturdays in the trendy Williamsburg neighborhood and Sundays in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.

Smorgasburg is also opening a weekly market in Kingston, New York, in the Hudson Valley, called SmorgasburgUpstate, on the 70-acre site of the former Hutton Brickyards on the banks of the Hudson River. The market will feature 75 food and antiques vendors, along with a bar serving craft beer, wine and spirits. The market at 200 North St., starts Saturdays June 4 through late October.
