TripAdvisor has announced the winners of its 2013 Travelers’ Choice awards for lodging and three Baltimore hotels are among those recognized by the travel website.

The awards are based on millions of reviews and feedback from travelers who rated more than 650,000 hotels in categories of Top Hotels, Luxury, Service, Small Hotels, and B&Bs and Inns.

The Inn at The Black Olive, where TV stars such as Julia Louis Dreyfus reportedly have stayed, was ranked third among U.S. properties in the Small Hotel category. The 12-room Fells Point property owned by the Stelios family and known for its eco-friendly amenities was also no. 14 among U.S. hotels with the best service.

Rachael’s Dowry Bed and Breakfast was named among the Top 10 B&Bs in the U.S. The hotel, located in a restored 8,000-square-foot mansion in Ridgely’s Delight, was ranked no. 6. Other regional B&Bs at the top of the list include Stony Point B&B in Tyrone, Pa. (no. 3); Albert Stevens Inn in Cape May, N.J. (no. 5) and Piney Hill B&B in Luray, Va. (no. 7). The top B&B was Point Clear Cottages in Fairhope, Ala.

The Four Seasons Baltimore, which opened in late 2011, came in at no. 18 on the list of top U.S. luxury hotels. The Harbor East hotel offers more than 250 lavish rooms, including 45 suites, including The Royal Suite, which is 2,800 square feet, with a marble foyer, office, media room, dressing room and service pantry with stainless-steel appliances. Luxe and lush, indeed.

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upulehu in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, took top honors overall, garnering awards for the top hotel in the U.S. and the world as well as the top luxury hotel.

Overall there were more than 6,000 award-winning properties in 82 countries and in nine regions across the globe. This is the 11th year for TripAdvisor’s Traveler Choice Awards.
