If you plan to get out of town Saturday, you’ll have a difficult time if you don’t take along a significant other. That’s right. Because it’s Valentine’s Day weekend, which means everyone is coupling up — at least temporarily — to have a good time.

If you don’t have a significant other, there’s nothing wrong with a group getaway. And whether it’s a trip with friends or a soul mate, there’s no sweeter place to be than Hershey, Pa.

The town calls it “Chocolate-Covered February” but you can call it a party. It’s a monthlong celebration of all things chocolate, including chocolate cooking school, chocolate dessert buffet, chocolate spa packages, chocolate and beer pairings and other gooey goodness.

The plan: Start with “The Great Hershey Quest,” a passport that’s your ticket to Chocolate Town. The cost is $19.95 per person and includes admission to the Hershey Story museum, ZooAmerica and Hershey’s Chocolate World. Along the way, you’ll get to taste hot cocoa, warm drinking chocolate and a classic cupcake.

If you want to top off your chocolate with a bit of sparkle, stop by the Le Vian Chocolate Diamond Trunk Show at the Hotel Hershey. Ah, these aren’t edible but they sure are wearable.

And, if you can afford to stay overnight, Hershey Hotel and Hershey Lodge are offering a $50 resort credit when you stay one night or $125 if you stay two nights.
