City Island

City Island, just 1 1/2- miles long and a 1/2-mile wide, reminds us of a 1950s working-class Cape Cod town. Along with a profusion of unpretentious (translated: the real deal) fresh seafood restaurants are bait-and-tackle shops, fishing charters, a nautical museum and views worthy of an old Woody Allen movie. In the Long Island Sound, between the Bronx and Long Island. (cityisland.com)
