The new wing-style rollercoaster, X-Flight, will feature suspended seats, a 12-story initial plunge, 3,000 feet of drops, and five inversions, according to spokeswoman Jennifer Dugan Savage.
The park first announced the new coaster on its Facebook page after giving followers clues about a "big announcement" for several days in advance.
Designed by the same company that built the Raging Bull, Superman and Batman rides, X-Flight will open in the County Fair section of the park in spring 2012.
The park announced last month that it would close and remove Iron Wolf, a stand-up rollercoaster that opened in 1991, after Labor Day weekend.
