SeaWorld has released its latest video installment of "Behind the Freeze," which share details of the attraction, scheduled to open in the spring of 2013. In the latest chapter, several of the round ride vehicles maneuver through a warehouse, but no special effects (or penguins) are seen.
"We have a dynamic transport unit that moves the vehicles across the floor in any direction, we have a motion-based platfrom that rocks the cabin in several axes of motion, and there's a unique wireless navigation system that moves our vehicles freely throughout the entire ride space," says Mike Denninger, corporate director for ride engineering.
The video shows the cars gliding, spinning and gently jostling passengers. The vehicles are controlled by wireless navigation -- no rail on the floor to follow, and SeaWorld says it's the first use of this technology in a theme park.
