TV ratings: CBS dramas top NBA Finals Tuesday
NBA telecast still gives ABC a demo win
Mark Harmon of 'NCIS'
Viewers chose drama reruns on CBS over live sports on ABC and NBC Tuesday night, although the demographic numbers still tipped in ABC's favor.
CBS led the night with a 7.0 rating/12 share in households and 10.45 million viewers. ABC, 5.9/10, came in second, followed by NBC at 3.3/6 (both networks' numbers will change some because of the live telecasts). FOX took fourth with a 2.9/5, and The CW trailed with a 0.9/2.
ABC rather easily won the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.9 rating. NBC finished second with a 2.2, beating CBS' 1.9. FOX averaged 1.4 and The CW 0.5.
An "NCIS" rerun gave CBS the lead at 8 p.m. with a 7.1/13. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and the NBA pre-game show drew a 5.2/9 for ABC. NBC got a 2.9/5 with its coverage of hockey's Stanley Cup Finals, edging a "House" rerun, 2.7/5, on FOX. The CW went with a "90210" rerun.
" The Mentalist," 7.6/12, kept CBS in front at 9 o'clock. Game 3 of the Orlando Magic- Los Angeles Lakers series scored a 6.0/10 for ABC. The Stanley Cup game on NBC improved to 3.2/5, keeping FOX and "Mental" -- which featured a guest appearance by David Carradine -- in fourth. "Hitched or Ditched" delivered a 1.1/2 for The CW.
The NBA Finals scored a 6.7/11 at 10 p.m. to move ABC to the top spot. " Without a Trace," 6.1/11, was second for CBS, while NBC's hockey coverage earned a 3.7/6.
