Drama reruns helped CBS grab the biggest overall audience Tuesday, but NBC had a decent night too, thanks to a news special and the season finale of "Law & Order: SVU."
CBS averaged a 6.5 rating/11 share in households and just under 10 million viewers for the night, topping the 5.8/10 and 8.65 million for NBC. FOX took third with a 2.9/5. ABC, 2.5/4, came in fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.1/2.
NBC led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.7 rating. CBS, 2.1, was the only other network to crack the 2.0 barrier. FOX was third at 1.5, followed by ABC, 1.2, and The CW, 0.6.
"NCIS," 7.3/13, dominated the 8 p.m. hour for CBS. Night two of "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" on NBC dropped a little from its premiere, finishing with a 3.7/7. The series finale of ABC's "According to Jim" drew a 2.7/5, edging the 2.6/5 for a "House" rerun on FOX. The CW reran last week's "Hitched or Ditched" premiere.
"The Mentalist," 7.0/11, kept CBS on top at 9, while NBC scored a solid second (and led the 18-49 demo for the hour) with the special "Inside the Obama White House." "Mental," 3.3/5, moved FOX ahead of ABC and its special "Earth 2100." A new "Hitched or Ditched" earned a 1.2/2 for The CW.
The "Law & Order: SVU" finale (7.6/13) grabbed the night's biggest audience at 10. CBS got a 5.2/9 from " 48 Hours Mystery," while the second hour of "Earth 2100" on ABC was a distant third at 2.3/4.
