TV Ratings: CBS Pulls Off Friday Sweep
'Friday Night Lights' has so-so start for NBC

CBS coasted to a ratings win Friday, pulling in almost double the audience of its closest competitor.
For the night, CBS averaged a 6.7 rating/11 share. NBC, 3.3/6, came in second among total viewers, despite ABC having the same household rating. FOX drew a 3.2/5 but also beat ABC in viewers. The CW trailed with a 0.9/1.
CBS also led among adults 18-49 with a 2.4 rating. ABC took second in the demographic with a 1.7, edging NBC's 1.6. FOX averaged 1.3 and The CW 0.6.
"Ghost Whisperer" scored a 6.8/12 for CBS at 8 p.m. "Howie Do It" earned a 3.5/6 for NBC, tying FOX's "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" in households and beating the game show in total viewers. "Wife Swap" put ABC in fourth, while The CW averaged 1.1/2 with "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game."
CBS stayed on top at 9 p.m. with "Flashpoint," 6.6/11. "Don't Forget the Lyrics," 2.9/5, was a distant second for FOX. The season premiere of "Friday Night Lights" on NBC drew a 2.8/5 -- not great, but better than NBC's been doing in the timeslot of late. ABC's "Supernanny" earned a 2.9/5 in households but trailed FOX and NBC in viewers. The CW aired an encore of "13 - Fear Is Real."
"Numb3rs" completed CBS' dominance of the night with a 6.9/12 at 10 p.m. ABC moved up to second with "20/20," 4.0/7, which beat the 3.6/6 for "Dateline" on NBC.
