After a day of post-holiday sales and leftovers, TV viewers tuned into CBS for repeats on Friday night, winning the evening for the network with a 4.5 rating/8 share. FOX was second with a 3.4/6, followed by NBC, 2.8, ABC, 2.6, and The CW, 0.8/2.
Among 18 to 49-year-olds, CBS was also tops with a 1.5. ABC, FOX and NBC all tied for second with a 1.2 each. The CW was last with a 0.5.
CBS started off at 8 p.m. with the highest-rated, most-watched show of the evening, "Ghost Whisperer," 5.0/9. FOX's "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" came in second over ABC's "Wife Swap," 2.3/4. NBC's airing of Bravo's "Top Chef," 1.6/3, didn't really pay off, but still beat "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game" on The CW, which averaged a 0.9/2 for the hour.
At 9 p.m., CBS came down a bit to a 4.2/8 off of a second hour of "Ghost Whisperer." FOX held on to second place with "Don't Forget the Lyrics," 3.2/6. NBC rose to third with "Dateline," 2.9/5, as "Supernanny" sunk ABC to fourth place. The CW ended its night with a second does of "Chris" and "The Game."
CBS held on at a 4.2/8 at 10 p.m. with "Numb3rs." NBC finished the evening with a second hour of "Dateline," 3.9/7, and ABC regained some lost ground with "20/20," 3.4/6.
