Meet your 15 'Fashion Show' designers
Bravo's answer to losing 'Project Runway' premieres May 7
Kristin, 'The Fashion Show'
Bravo announced its 15 professional designers for its new fashion competition series "The Fashion Show," which debuts on Thursday, May 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Among them are Andrew the Panty-Christ, the self-described "gaylebrity" who already has conquered the world of designer underwear, the high-tech savvy Angel, and Merlin the materials magician.
Isaac Mizrahi and singer-actress Kelly Rowland (formerly of Destiny's Child) will co-host and act as judges alongside Fern Mallis, IMG Fashion's Sr. VP.
The 15 designers will compete in the Harper's Bazaar mini challenge -- which will be judged by the magazine's Special Projects Director Laura Brown -- and then the elimination challenge. The winning contestant will nab the $125,000 prize as well as have their clothing line available for retail, so the designs will also have to appeal to the Average Joe or Jane, not the haute couture crowd.
The unveiling of the 15 competitors coincides with NBC Universal's announcement that the Weinstein Company has paid for the right to move "Project Runway" from Bravo to Lifetime.
