Alex Kingston Checks Back into 'ER'
She reprises her role as Elizabeth Corday in January
Alex Kingston, who had a seven-season run on the NBC series as Dr. Elizabeth Corday, will reprise her role on Thursday, Jan. 15, NBC says. She joins former TV husband Anthony Edwards and Noah Wyle in making guest appearances during the show's final season.
The Jan. 15 episode centers on Neela (Parminder Nagra), who's having a recurring dream about trying to save a patient who has sickle cell anemia. She also goes in for an interview to be an attending physician, where she's surprised to run into Dr. Corday.
Kingston joined "ER" in 1997, with her character eventually marrying Edwards' Dr. Mark Greene. (Corday was mentioned but not seen in Edwards' appearance in November.) She stayed with the show for seven years, departing early in the 2004-05 season.
Since leaving the show she's appeared on "Doctor Who," "Without a Trace" and "CSI" as well as in several shows in the U.K., most recently the miniseries "Lost in Austen."
Wyle is scheduled to make his appearances in the show's final episodes. Another former "ER" doc, Eriq LaSalle, is set to direct this season's 14th episode.
