The president of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology died Friday after suffering a medical emergency in his office.
Matt Branam was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.
School representatives said Branam didn't have any medical conditions leading up to his death. The exact cause of his death is not known at this time.
The Rose-Hulman alumnus had served as the technical school's president since 2009. He was 58.
Butler University President James Danko released the following statement regarding Branam:
"Matt Branam was an exemplary leader for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. In his work with UPS, the Red Cross and other organizations, as well as in higher education, he was an innovator and forward thinker. Butler University sends its most heartfelt condolences to the Rose-Hulman community."
