More rain today with scattered rain through the day turning widespread this evening and overnight. This morning and into the afternoon will see areas of moderate to light rain on radar. There will be those who hardly see a drop of rain, but there will be others who will hardly get a break from the rain. Brief periods of sunshine, much like what we saw yesterday, will also occur.
High temperatures will be around 70 degrees today. Winds will be out of the Southeast. By tonight we expect to see wide spread rainfall across the area with the potential for heavy rainfall right over Marion county. Some models aer showing upwards of 3 inches falling in and just North of Indianapolis. If this type of rain fall overnight street flooding and later in the week river flooding would be possible. The good news is this rain is much needed. Drought like conditions across the state should be eased or completely dropped behind the rain.
Looking at the long term forecast Monday mornnig rain should give way to mostly cloudy skies. Rain returns on Tuesday as upper low finally begins to move East. By Wednesday we may be able to return to a more "dry." pattern.
