IUPUI police investigate attempted sexual assault in library bathroom

Campus police received a call reporting a man was exposing himself in the men's bathroom at University Library, located in the 700 block of W. Michigan Street.

The Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Police Department is searching for a sexual battery suspect for an incident that occurred in the campus library Monday morning. 

Campus police received a call reporting a man was exposing himself in the men’s bathroom at University Library, located in the 700 block of W. Michigan Street. 

An IUPUI student told police he entered the bathroom and saw a man standing in a stall with his pants and underwear below his knees.  The victim said as he was entering a stall, the man entered as well. 

The student said the subject grabbed his neck and demanded him to perform a sexual act or suffer bodily harm. 

Police said the victim then pushed the suspect away and ran out of the bathroom.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20’s with dark, brown spiked hair.  He was reported to be wearing blue jeans, a gray “Hollister” t-shirt and white shoes.
