Joe Biden is cool with gay marriage

It's pretty clear that the Obama administration has no problem with gay marriage. But now Vice President Joe Biden has made it a little clearer. From

On Meet the Press Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden said he is “absolutely comfortable” with gay couples having the same rights as heterosexual couples.

“I am vice president of the United States of America. The president sets the policy. I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women, and heterosexual men and women marrying another are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties. And quite frankly, I don’t see much of a distinction beyond that,” Biden said. The vice president added that more people are seeing the issue as a “simple proposition” that boils down to “who do you love?”

I'd like to hold a nationwide vote on gay marriage, just so we can have every citizen's opinion on the record. Because it's going to be legalized eventually. And I don't want people who are against gay marriage now claiming they were pro-gay marriage twenty years from now, like what happened with civil rights. Try finding an old person who will admit to being against civil rights back in the '60s. It's impossible. But obviously someone was working those fire hoses in Alabama. It's the same thing with Red Sox fans. You think those girls in pink Ortiz jerseys were rooting for the team when they hadn't won a Series in 80 years? Of course not. That's why everyone in America needs to declare their allegiance on gay marriage and sports teams right now. That way, when gay marriage is legalized and the Cubs win the World Series, we'll know who to let into the victory party. That’s right, anti-gay Padres fans, you don't get to meet Theo Epstein OR Lady Gaga!
