If you love birds or photography or both, you're gonna want to stop by The Gallery at Firehouse Square in New London sometime in the next month to see artwork by famed illustrator and bird guide guru Roger Tory Peterson and one of his disciples.

The June 27-July 27 show of works by Peterson and photographer Diana Atwood Johnson (who credits Peterson as her personal inspiration) will open with a reception Thursday from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the gallery at 239 Bank St., New London.

According to the release from the Connecticut Audubon Society, the works by Peterson that will be on display are original prints from his estate. Both his photos and Johnson's focus on wildlife from around the region.
