The Pantry

The Pantry: Paul Zawadski and Andrew Rolleri. (May 15, 2012)

1) The Pantry

To get an idea of how much people love the desserts at The Pantry you need to know a few details about their chocolate chip cookies. “We do lots and lots of cookies,” says co-owner Andy Rolleri. “The most popular is chocolate chip.” Rolleri says the bakery turns out 3000 of those a week. The Pantry might single-handedly support a significant portion of the chocolate industry. They use several tons of chocolate chips a year, says Rolleri. House made ice creams and sorbets are an added draw. All of that is suitably enticing, of course, but the chocolate mousse cake is a deep, dark, creamy and rich thing that really should be experienced. Grab one of those the next time you volunteer to bring dessert to a dinner party, and your contribution will likely eclipse everything that comes before it.
