Fire officials are still investigating the cause of a Sunday night fire that left 11 people displaced this morning. Around 11 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at 36 Vernon St. In New Haven. The 2nd alarm fire was put out in about 20 minutes. But, not before sufficient fire and smoke damage was done to the attic of the 2 story building. There was also damage to a second floor bathroom and water damage throughout the two family home. One firefighter was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for evaluation. He slipped and fell. The fire is still under investigation. The 11 people that were displaced by the fire are being helped by the Red Cross.
