PLAINVILLE, Conn.  - A spelling mistake tipped of cashiers at a Plainville supermarket to a trio of thieves.
     Plainville police say three men were charged after they allegedly stole around $5,000 from supermarkets coin changing machines.
      Police say the men took the money from supermarkets around the Connecticut this fall over by using counterfeit Coinstar receipts.
      Customers pour in loose change into Coinstar machines in stores and get receipts to turn in for cash.
       A clerk was tipped off when a receipt spelled the word "food" with three o's.
      The cash was taken from stores in Manchester, East Hartford, Vernon, Ellington, Tolland and Berlin.
