Union Members Authorizes Strike Against Johnson Controls
Union workers at Johnson Controls in York County are poised to go on strike. Members of UAW Local 1872 earlier this month voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike when the current contract expires at midnight on Friday.

Union leadership cited several grievances toward the local management team including military veterans with over 40 years seniority being denied pension plan participation, retirement health insurance, full vacation and fair wages.

Statement from Rich Smith, Director, Manufacturing Operations, Johnson Controls:

"Johnson Controls is currently working with UAW Local 1872 to reach an agreement before the contract expires on Friday, July 27, 2012 at midnight. We are committed to the collective bargaining process and look forward to continued dialogue with the union to reach an agreement that benefits all parties."
