Officials on Long Island responding to a call in Hicksville, were almost in need of emergency care themselves, after the woman who called them for help began attacking them.

Courtney Anderson, 27, who was arrested and charged with three counts of assault is accused of biting, kicking and punching police officers and a medical worker when they arrived to help her during a health emergency on Sunday night.

Relatives told the officers and ambulance worker on the scene that Anderson "had a history of drug abuse including heroin."

Anderson, although fighting while being placed into the ambulance, was rushed to Nassau University Medical Center for medical evaluation.

The officers and ambulance worker suffered several bite marks, cuts and bruises, requiring medical attention, police said.
