Subway Fire Causes Major Delays At Dekalb Ave.

A cable fire at Dekalb Avenue Station in Brooklyn is crippling subway service to and from Brooklyn, according to the MTA.

The fire reached two alarms as firefighters battled thick smoke and flames, Tuesday afternoon.

According to the MTA website, riders should expect the following service changes:

B train service is running between Bedford Park Blvd Station to the 34th St.-Herald Square Station.  There is no B-train service in both directions between the 34th St.-Herald Square Station and the Brighton Beach Station.

D train service is running between the Atlantic Ave.-Pacific Street Station to the Coney Island- Stillwell Avenue Station, and the 34 St.- Herald Square Station to the Norwood-205 St. Station.

For alternate service, some downtown F train service via the G train from the Queens Plaza Station to the Jay Street-MetroTech Station.

Downtown N train service is running from the 36 St. Station in Brooklyn to the Coney Island-Stillwell Ave. Station.

Uptown Q train service is running from the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station to the Prospect Park Station.

Downtown N, Q and R train service will terminate at the 57 Street-7 Ave. Station, 34 Street-Herald Square Station, the Canal St. Station and the Whitehall-South Ferry Station.
