BETHPAGE, N.Y. (WPIX) -- A Bethpage High School student was arrested Wednesday after he went on a rampage through the halls of his school, beating up three students and a teacher, while threatening the life of another.
According to police, Charles P. Sheridan, 18, attacked a fellow student on Wednesday afternoon, punching him almost 15 times before being pulled off of the 15-year old boy by another student. At that point, Sheridan ran down the hallway and attacked another student. The suspect shoved that boy into a row of lockers, and stole $40 dollars from him.
While exiting through a stairwell, Sheridan pushed another student down a flight of stairs. A teacher who witnessed the assault tried to intervene when the suspect "grabbed the teacher simulating a gun with his hand and pointing it at the teachers head verbally threaten to kill him" said Nassau County Police.
When the suspect was being escorted out of the building he punched another teacher twice in the eye, giving him a contusion and small cut over his eye.
At one point an anonymous caller phoned police, and the boy was arrested.
The suspect has been charged with assault, menacing, attempted robbery, and robbery. Sheridan was arraigned Thursday where he pleaded not guilty, and was released without bail.
The school district says Sheridan has been suspended indefinitely pending a hearing with the school superintendent.
