New Clues Surface As Search For Shannan Gilbert Continues On Long Island
The search continues for Shannan Gilbert, a woman who went missing near Oak Beach on Long Island 18 months ago.

Now, there are some possible new clues in her disappearance.

Police will not confirm that they found items directly linked to Gilbert, but there are reports that some articles of clothing or even a woman's handbag may have been found in the area on Tuesday.

Cops say the 24-year-old from Jersey City was working as a prostitute when she disappeared on May 1, 2010. She was last seen at a client's home in Oak Beach.

Police were looking for Gilbert last December when they began to discover a total of 10 bodies along Ocean Parkway.

At first, officials suspected there were several serial killers, but recently said they believe one person is responsible for all 10 deaths. Police also said they believe Gilbert's case is unrelated.

For the past two days, police have been searching the Oak Beach area using cadaver dogs, and they've also sent dive team officers in the water.
