PIX11 TO AIR M@dAbout
M@dAbout, a syndicated television show focused on educating teens and tweens on various life lessons, will begin airing in the New York market on Saturday, September 18th at 12 noon on PIX11 (WPIX/Channel 11.)

M@dAbout is the brainchild of Minneapolis-based The National Theatre for Children (NTC) as a way to communicate real-life lessons to the tween and teen markets in a fun way. A true educational and informative (E/I) series, each episode relies on a small company of skilled comedic actors to explore significant topics including fitness, money and the environment. M@dAbout incorporates comic monologues, sketch and improv comedy, eye-catching animation, original music, and humorous "man on the street" interviews about life's issues.

A preview live tour -- in concert with the premiere episodes of the new series -- will take place in New York area schools October 4th through 8th. Schools include IS 143 and IS 195 in Manhattan, Garden City Middle School, Mt. Sinai Middle School and North Babylon's Robert Moses Middle School in Long Island as well as Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle and Anne M Dorner Middle School in Ossining.

"NTC performances engage kids in an interactive and fun way that all too often doesn't occur in their day-to-day school experience. We are making some pretty complex topics very accessible to elementary and middle school students," said Ward Eames, president of NTC. "We make them laugh, help them learn, and leave students with knowledge they weren't expecting when they first sat down to see the show."

M@dAbout offers a multi-platform marketing opportunity that includes national live in-school performances, printed curriculum components, and a syndicated website along with the weekly syndicated television show.

In addition to airing on PIX11, M@dAbout is syndicated nationally and is available in more than 85 percent of all TV viewing households. Sponsorships for national live in-school shows are still available.
