A Plainview man who admitted to driving drunk and causing a deadly crash will learn his fate today.

24-year-old Jose Borbon will be sentenced on Friday in Suffolk County.

Borbon confessed to the fatal accident that claimed the life of veteran police officer Glen Ciano in Commack back in 2009. He pleaded guilty to driving drunk and talking on his cell phone when he collided with Officer Ciano's squad car. Officer Ciano's car struck a utility pole and ended up catching on fire.

At the time of the accident, Borbon was driving with a restricted license for a previous DWI arrest.
