MANTOLOKING, N.J. (WPIX)—Eight homes on the barrier island town of Mantoloking were razed in a fire sparked by an underground gas main explosion. The New Jersey town had already suffered major damage following Hurricane Sandy.
Firefighters are unable to reach the fire because the streets are block by sand. Bulldozers are helping clear the way to effort emergency services.
Pockets of flames were seen coming out from the sand.
