MTV Cancels 'Jersey Shore' After 6 Monster Seasons
After six seasons of gym, tanning and laundry, MTV's "Jersey Shore" is coming to an end.

The show that's responsible for making Snooki, The Situation and J WOWW household names, announced Thursday that after it's sixth season, the reality phenomenon will come to a close.

Cast members were quick to react to the news, taking to Twitter where new mom Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi tweeted, "Yes, sadly its true this upcoming season of Jersey Shore will be our last. But it was fricken insane."

Vinny Guadagnino is already making post-Jersey Shore plans, tweeting, "So I guess I'll run for president now #2012."

And Sammy Sweetheart, "the sweetest bitch that you'll ever meet," thanked the fans, tweeting "It's been one hell of a ride but this is just the beginning! Thank you all for your love."

The last and final season of "Jersey Shore" kicks off October 4.

Ever since its debut, Jersey Shore has been a ratings juggernaut for MTV, bringing a record number audience with each season premiere and finale.
