A man was fatally stabbed early Wednesday morning inside a halfway house in Manhattan.

The stabbing occurred between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. at the Stanton House, located at 190 Stanton Street on the Lower East Side.

A bloody hallway lead police to find the 50-year-old victim, who was stabbed in the abdomen. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:25 a.m.

Cops combed each floor of the building for the suspect, and the manhunt continues Wednesday. Police say the suspect may be a former resident of Stanton House.

Stanton House provides transitional housing to the mentally ill and substance abusers,
