Children ages 2 ½ - Kindergarten showed their inner Picasso at the Giving Nest Preschool and Kindergarten Art Gallery, on Saturday, May 19th. Parents and students took a walk down storybook lane throughout the hallways and classrooms, to view the more than 70 art creations. Each display was based on select novels.

Some of the books read included Who Was Leonardo da Vinci by Roberta Edwards, Owl Moon by Jane Yolen, Bye-Bye Big Bad Bullybug by Ed Emberley, The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper and The Lorax by Dr. Suess.

One of the displays featured a giant wall mural which was a cooperative effort between the students, staff members and local artist, Jodi Bonthron.

Following the Art Gallery the students and their families participated in a Walk-A-Thon, where all proceeds benefitted Save the Children Literacy Program. The day ended with a family picnic.

The Giving Nest Preschool and Kindergarten has four locations in New Jersey: Watchung, Martinsville, Bridgewater and North Plainfield.
