Deliberations On LI Hate Crime Trial Continues
A Suffolk County jury is scheduled to begin its fourth day of deliberations today in the hate-crime murder trial of 19-year-old Jeffrey Conroy.

Since deliberations began last week, the jury has asked several times for read-backs of testimony, as well as second looks at evidence and legal definitions.

Conroy is accused of fatally stabbing Ecuadorean immigrant, Marcelo Lucero, on November 8, 2008 in Patchogue.

Prosecutors say Conroy and six others targeted hispanics the night Lucero was killed.

Conroy has pleaded not guilty to murder and manslaughter as hate-crimes.

Authorities say Conroy admitted to the police that he was responsible for the fatal stabbing.

But he tried to pin the killing on another teen during his testimony at trial.
