NEW YORK (PIX11)—A man who was arrested for urinating on an 11-year-old girl's leg while on board a New York-bound JetBlue flight will not face charges, however the incident has cost him his position on the U.S. Ski Team development squad.
According to authorities, the disturbing incident occurred on an overnight flight from Portland, Oregon. As the girl slept and her father and sister were in the restroom, a Vermont man named Robert Vietze, 18, stumbled into the aisle and began to urinate on the young girl's leg.
The young girl's father walked back to his seat to find the 18-year-old peeing on his daughter, and went into a rage, according to reports.
A witness told the New York Post, "I woke up to this man yelling and literally looking like he was about to punch this kid in the face," said the witness, who asked not to be identified. "The father was screaming, 'F - - k that kid! I don't want him near my family!' "
Vietze, who is 6'4" and 195 lb., told authorities that he had eight drinks before passing out and waking up mid-stream.
When the plane finally touched down in New York at 6:30 a.m. there was a small fleet of Port Authority officers waiting for Vietze and the sick passenger.
Although he was arrested, the charges against him have since been dropped, officials said. However, in wake of the incident, Vietze, who was a member of the U.S. Ski Team development squad, was kicked off the team.
