George Zimmerman is facing more scrutiny tonight -- because to many observers what we see -- does not sync up with what he said.

The aspiring neighborhood watchman is seen -- in handcuffs -- walking on his own with police officers, and not under their physical escort, into department headquarters on the night of February 26th.

There are no visible bandages, bloodstains, and no signs of a broken nose or swollen lip -- injuries Zimmerman claim Martin inflicted.

But Martin's mother says the police video proves her son was unjustly killed.

"This video is clear evidence that there is some problem with this case and he needs to be arrested," said Sybrina Fulton.

There are reports the video was recorded barely half an hour after Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman's lawyer says it was taken four hours after the fatal shooting.

He adds his client received first aid -- and was cleaned up before he arrived at police headquarters.

Pix11's Dr. Steve says after looking at the video, he's not surprised by the public's skepticism about Zimmerman's statements to police.

But he says a much clearer video, or ideally -- the results of an official physical examination would go a long way to help prove -- or disprove the injuries Zimmerman's says he suffered.

"This to me, does not look like, just based on what i see -- someone who was in a "severe" beating. This could be a guy who was hit a couple of times in the face. Or not at all", said Dr. Steve.

Robert Zimmerman - who does not want his face shown -- says his son had no choice but to pull the trigger.

"Trayvon martin said something to the effect of you're going to die now or you're going to die tonight, something to that effect. He continued to beat George. At some point, George pulled his pistol and did what he did," said Robert Zimmerman, Sr.
